The Class AA All-Conference and All-State teams, sponsored by Universal Athletic, have been announced!

The teams are selected by coach's vote. Athletes selected to the All-State and All-Conference teams will receive a framed certificate from Universal Athletic to commemorate their achievement.

After a great 35 year run it has become necessary to cancel the John Colter Run for 2012. Because of the location of this race, which takes place on both private and public property, increasing safety issues have surfaced. These are primarily due to the fact that the course crosses railroad property, specifically at a non-controlled crossing location. Due to safety and railroad operational concerns, the railroad has made the decision to not grant permission to run the race as it has been run in the past because of these factors.

Universal Athletic has been working with the railroad and respects their decision to not allow the race this year. Universal Athletic regrets that we cannot offer this event, but we also do not want to compromise public safety or cause an impact on a major transportation industry.

Universal has enjoyed offering the event in the past 35 years and has benefited greatly from the relationships developed over the years with the many participants, other co-sponsorship groups as well as the Montana Dept. of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the railroad, and Holcim Inc.

We do not know at this time what the future of the event is in coming years.

UA has teamed up with some talented students from Longfellow Elementary school here in Bozeman. The students have been working with our retail staff to learn the ins and outs of sports retail.

Help Universal Athletic Support the Run 4 Robyn 5k run/walk In Loving Memory of our 2011 North Dakota State XC Champion, Robyn Essler. The run will start at 1 p.m. on June 2nd and will start at the Garrison High School Track and we will run a course that Robyn ran many times. There will be a lunch, silent auction, and balloon release upon the return to the track that afternoon. Silent auction donations are welcome and greatly appreciated! All proceeds will go into a Run 4 Robyn Memorial Account and be used to purchase new uniforms for the Garrison XC and Track teams and then put into scholarships! Your presence and participation in this event is greatly appreciated. If you aren’t able to attend you can still order shirts and water bottles.

You can pick up registration forms at the Garrison High School, Bob Callies Elemntary School, Benedictine Living Center, or go on Facebook to the Run For Robyn Event and print them off!
Registration forms must be in by May 15, 2012.
