Bismarck High School held a ceremony for the retirement of Weston Dressler's football jersey on March 23.

Weston Dressler played football for Bismarck High School from 00’-03’ and made his mark on Bismarck area athletics. He led the Demons to a state championship in 2001 and was named All-State three times. In 2003, he was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for his abilities on the turf. Dressler continued football at the next level and finished his collegiate career as University of North Dakota’s all-time receiving leader. He graduated with 19 different school records and was UND’s Male Athlete of the Year in 2007-2008. He earned 2007 All-American honors, two straight NCC Most Valuable Receiver awards, and was named to the 2007 All-NCC first team at three different positions. Dressler earned his fourth straight All-NCC first team selection, becoming just the fourth player in conference history to do so. His academic prowess had him named to ESPN the Magazine’s Academic All-America first team for two years straight. Dressler was also the national semifinalist for the Draddy Trophy, which is the highest academic honor in NCAA football for all division levels.

Last season, Dressler followed his excellent college career by being named the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie. He is currently a wide receiver for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
